Mosul, Iraq's second largest city, is the capital of Nineveh Governorate in northwestern Iraq and surrounds the ancient Assyrian city of Nineveh. الموصل، ثاني أكبر مدن العراق، هي عاصمة محافظة نينوى في شمال غربى العراق وتحيط بالمدينة الأشورية القديمة في نينوى.
